Public art project, Ebersberg
For the Project Ebersberg 2017 - that focuses on public art - Sladjan Nedeljkovic installed the wooden stage Arena on Platz der Ehrenamtlichen, Ebersberg. The stage placed in this kind in public space fulfils multiple functions in the urban environment: it is on the one hand a sculpture and on the other hand meeting point and a place for reflecting. Simultaneously, it serves as an open stage for a wide range of activities such as concerts, readings, dance, theatre and improvisation performances. The artist intents to create places for encounter and exchange as well as re-evaluate urban environment in it's social function.
The wooden stage stood from April to November in 2017 at Platz der Ehrenamtlichen in Ebersberg. During these eight months, Thomas Hager, a musician and photographer, organised numerous concerts and events on the Arena.
